Suzuki SV-7GX: The Beloved 645cc V-Twin Lives On in a New Crossover
Suzuki confirms full specs and pricing for the 2026 SV-7GX, a GSX-S1000GX-styled crossover built around the proven 645cc V-twin. 73 hp, 795 mm seat, from 7,999 euro.

For years riders assumed Suzuki's much-loved 645cc V-twin was living on borrowed time. The 2026 SV-7GX answers that worry head-on: the engine survives, now wrapped in a brand-new crossover body that borrows its look and concept from the flagship GSX-S1000GX. Suzuki has confirmed full specs and European pricing, and the bike starts at 7,999 euro in Pearl Brilliant White, with three other colours at 8,299 euro.
The V-twin survives, and grows up
At the heart sits the familiar 645cc 90-degree V-twin, reworked to meet Euro5+ and now making a claimed 73 hp and 64 Nm of torque. The big change is electronics: for 2026 the engine finally gets a ride-by-wire throttle, traction control and three ride modes. Mode A sharpens response for active riding, Mode B balances things out, and Mode C softens delivery and caps output around 60 hp for wet roads. A bi-directional quickshifter and a slipper clutch round out the package.
A registrable, fully electronic SV is exactly what the platform's fans have been asking for, and Suzuki finally built it.
Built to cover distance
This is a road-biased crossover, not a dirt bike. Suspension is KYB at both ends: a 41mm telescopic fork with 125mm of travel and a link-type monoshock with adjustable preload. Tokico four-piston calipers bite twin 290mm front discs, with ABS as standard. The 795mm seat is genuinely low for the class, and a three-step adjustable screen, handguards and a 17.4-litre tank point at comfortable, longer-distance riding.

Where it fits
At under 8,000 euro the SV-7GX undercuts most of the crossover and adventure-touring middleweights it competes with, and the low seat plus restrictable power make it unusually approachable. It is not the most powerful bike in its class, and the road-biased chassis will not satisfy anyone chasing genuine off-road ability. What it offers is character: that V-twin has a following, and pairing it with modern electronics and real touring kit at this price is a smart play.
Sales begin across Europe and North America through 2026. We have added the SV-7GX to our motorcycle rankings, where you can line it up against the V-Strom 800 and the rest of the middleweight crossover field.
